You didn’t think we would have a December without snow, did you?

Weather Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Edmonton area Sunday night, warning an intense band of snow would dump 10 centimetres of the white stuff to fall through the night into Monday morning. Approximately 20-30 cm of snow fell over the weekend and the City of Edmonton said in a news release it was doubling efforts to clear snow from roads, trails and bike lanes.

On Sunday evening the city said it has approximately 200 plows and graders out clearing the roads, supported by 250 crew members, but a tweet later on from the city stated that all equipment was now at work.

It also reminded residents to be patient and leave room for the equipment to clear the major and arterial roads.

A parking ban will be decided on once the snow stops, the release stated, adding the city will give at least eight hours notification.
